About midday I headed out to give the front bushes a major cut back because they were getting too big and crowding over the path to the front door. There is so much more open space out there now.
The younger two decided to be birds and make themselves a nest. Then J9, who was avoiding her school work, decided to join in and help them, and just as I grabbed the camera, M12 decided she had to be in on it also.
They did help clean it all up afterwards and brought it out to the garden bale.
I did it again, I sewed. This time I finished up E6's requests and made her overdress. (It is to go over her togs when we go to the pool, or for around the house - she wears her togs most summer around the house)
For the dress I just used an oversized dress as the pattern and traced around the top half of it. And since I was being lazy and knew it didn't have to look perfect, I just overlockered the seams and edges. One other thing that I did do was sew in a piece of shirring elastic around the waist/under the bust area to make it more fitted without the use of a belt.
She likes it, and that is all good.
It is the morning of the 'rental inspection' and the kids woke up with exclamations of 'Wow!'. They have been awake for 1.5hrs and there are already toys all over the kitchen floor, crumbs on the bench and chocolate milk on the tiles.
We are headed to the library today, as a bit of a reward for hard work, and it also gets them out of the house.
Oops, better get back to the stove, forgot I was cleaning that!
Only one day to go.
So far I have swept, in and out, mowed (still mowing but taking a breather), dishes, laundry, WIR.
Hmm, doesn't sound like much does it.
Well I am going to scrub carpet spots soon, maybe coerce the kids into picking up from the back yard for me, and vaccuum my room. Or something like that, before I go on my bread run, make dinner while I am out (still working out how to do that one) and do my supposed-to-be-daily daily exercises.
Things will be a little quiet around here for the moment, at least until rental inspection is done.
So, read a few books, draw some nice pictures and sew a few dozen pairs of tracksuit pants (they have to be too long though).
I may take breaks though, inbetween the cleaning, schooling, cooking and bread run to check out what is happening in the blogging world.
With all the sewing done (they loved it, even the oversized hoody I made) for now, it is time to concentrate on rental inspection. Just another distraction in our full on lives. Well, make that hubby and mine's full on life.
I gave the girls a list of jobs to do today and since then they have been playing nicely together. It is the best thing to make the kids play nicely and not be bored! I just wish they wouldn't mind doing the jobs so much.
Tonight/this afternoon hubby has a play date (has had a lot of those lately) before the families dinner date. It is our regular home group group plus a few extras for a dinner.
Apart from this I have started scouring my diary for possibly tea tasting party dates since I had to cancel the last one. I think I have told everyone, bar one person, that it is cancelled. I guess if anyone turns up tomorrow I must have forgotten them.
Ok, time to get onto the back yard. I need to do the edges before I can think about what I need to whip up to take tonight to dinner. Preferably something gluten, sugar, and dairy free! It is no easy task. Maybe I will cheat and buy something on the way there.
Anyhow, back to the yard I go.
