Description

Fresh figs roasted in a delicious sauce.

Ingredients

5 figs
2 discs of palm sugar, grated
1tspvanilla bean paste, or vanilla essence
1 juice of 1 lime/lemon

Instructions

1. Pre-heat oven to 150 Celsius.
2. Cut the stalks off the figs, then slice in half. Arrange in a baking dish, cut side up.
3. Put a teaspoon of grated palm sugar in the hollow of each fig, then drizzle with vanilla bean paste.
4. Pour lime/lemon juice into the base of the baking dish.
5. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or fresh cream. Top with the syrup from the base of the baking dish.
